Consider a Master of Science in School Psychology

In a response to the growing need for school psychologists to ensure the safety and mental health of our children, the field of school psychology is flourishing - especially for those holding graduate degrees. Prepare yourself for this thriving field by pursing a Master of Science in School Psychology Program here at St. John's University!

Completion of the 66-credit Master of Science program in School Psychology at our Queens and Oakdale Long Island campuses qualifies students for a provisional New York State certificate that authorizes practice as a school psychologist. After the graduate completes two years of work experience, they receive a permanent certificate in the field of pupil personnel service.

Upcoming Deadline: Master of Science, Biological and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology


From new medications to genetics, the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries harness biological processes to meet our society’s health-related and commercial needs.

Students interested in the M.S. Bioloical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology program at St. John's University will gain the scientific and laboratory skills to conduct research that can improve lives. By developing administrative skills, they will be able to prepare and advance in a vital, fast-growing field.

The curriculum provides a strong conceptual foundation upon which students can build the practical skills to excel in this exciting field. Students must complete a minimum of 33 credits, 18 of which are the required core courses, including an off-campus internship that students take preferably in their final semester or after they have completed a minimum of 21 credits with a 3.0 index.

Applicants need to submit the following items with their admission application by March 1st for Fall consideration:
  • B.S. or B.A. or equivalent with a major in life sciences or physical sciences
  • Official transcripts reflecting a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Satisfactory GRE scores
  • A minimum of two letters of reference
  • Foreign-born students who have not received a U.S. degree are required to present evidence of proficiency in English such as the TOEFL test
